Default  is the first or last sentence the conclusion???

Passage:  We ought to pay attention only to the intrinsic properties of a work of art.  Its other, extrinsic properties are irrelevant to our aesthetic interactions with it.  For example, when we look at a painting we should consider only what is directly presented in our experience of it.  What is really aesthetically relevant, therefore, is not what a painting symbolizes, but what it directly presents to experience.

The last sentence is the conclusion. Aside from the "therefore," a few additional signs point to the last sentence. The first two sentences say pretty much the same thing, and you can't have two conclusions. The third sentence delves further into what is meant by the first two sentences, but it covers much of the same ground. But the last sentence moves on to some new territory, and it introduces a new concept -- what a painting symbolizes. This is the last indication. It's pretty normal for a Sufficient Assumption question such as this one to introduce some new concept for the first time in the conclusion, and when it does, you can quickly scan the answer choices and eliminate anything that fails to mention the new concept. This gets rid of choices (C) and (E) immediately. Choice (A) is right because the premises establish that extrinsic properties are aesthetically irrelevant, and choice (A) establishes that what an artwork symbolizes involves only extrinsic properties. Thus the conclusion is proven that what an artwork symbolizes is not aesthetically relevant.
